2 Extricated In Serious Wethersfield Crash

A vehicle struck a bridge Monday afternoon and two people were hospitalized.

WETHERSFIELD, CT — Two people were extricated from a vehicle following a crash on Silas Deane Highway at the Route 5/15 overpass Monday, according to police. The wreck occurred at 12:01 p.m. when a vehicle collided into the bridge.

Police arrived to find a single vehicle with significant damage. The two people inside were extricated by firefighters and transported by Aetna Ambulance to Hartford Hospital for treatment.

The crash is being investigated by the Midstate Accident Reconstruction Squad.
