2 Injured In Crash With Garbage Truck In Wethersfield: Police

Police said the crash happened shortly after 2:40 a.m. Saturday on Silas Deane Highway in Wethersfield.

WETHERSFIELD, CT — Two people were injured in an early-morning crash in Wethersfield involving an SUV and a garbage truck, according to police.

Wethersfield police said the crash happened shortly after 2:40 a.m. Saturday near the 1130 Silas Deane Highway. According to police, a Kia SUV struck a garbage truck near the location.

Wethersfield firefighters had to extricate the driver of the Kia from the SUV, police said.

Two people were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.

The crash closed Silas Deane Highway for approximately four hours, police said. The road has since reopened.
