2 Killed In Head-On Collision On Silas Deane Highway: Police

WETHERSFIELD, CT — Two people died in a head-on collision on Silas Deane Highway in Wethersfield on Saturday, according to police.

Wethersfield police said the collision happened shortly after 2:30 p.m. near 1293 Silas Deane Highway. According to police, two cars were involved in the crash.

Both drivers suffered serious injuries and were taken to the hospital, where they died, police said.

Authorities did not release additional details about the crash.

According to authorities, the collision prompted authorities to close Silas Deane Highway between Hewitt Street and Town Line Road to traffic.

The crash remains under investigation.
