Old Wethersfield, CT – Jamie’s Run for Connecticut Children’s expects over 700 runners and walkers to take part in the 7th annual event! The event is held on October 30 at 9 a.m. beginning at Standish Park in Old Wethersfield. Jamie’s Run features a 5K, 3K Charity Walk and Kids K Fun Run! The courses are flat and wind through the quaint village of Old Wethersfield, passing historic homes and landmarks. Athletes and families will enjoy a pre- and post-race celebration with refreshments, kid's activities, inflatables, music, games and more.

The race is held in honor of Jamie Knotts. Jamie died in January 2010 at the age of 5 ½ months from a rare type of liver tumor. The proceeds of the race benefit the Pediatric Clinical Trials and Family Assistance programs at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. Jamie’s parents, Kurt and Kelly Knotts, continue to make a direct impact on families that are currently fighting these diseases. “Not only did we want to put on an event that honors Jamie, but also the doctors, nurses, and staff at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center who are living angels to the children and families who are currently struggling with cancer and blood disorders” states Kurt Knotts.
