WETHERSFIELD, CT — A month-long outdoor art display and community celebration will return to Old Wethersfield in May, organizers announced.

The free event invites visitors to explore the town’s historic district while viewing bicycle designs, many inspired by Connecticut’s America 250 commemoration.

The celebration will open Sunday, May 3, with a community bicycle parade in partnership with Bike Walk Wethersfield.

Participants are asked to gather at 10 a.m. at the Keeney Center, with the parade beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Organizers said the route will be a flat, approximately 30-minute ride through the historic neighborhood.

Riders are encouraged to decorate their bicycles and wear themed costumes, with a limited number of America 250-themed decorations available.

Following the parade, a kickoff celebration will take place at the Keeney Center, featuring live music and food from Village Pizza.

Throughout the month, visitors can also explore local businesses, restaurants, museums, and the waterfront in Connecticut’s largest historic district.
