WETHERSFIELD, CT — National and state elections are taking place on Nov. 3, but before that big day, the candidate slates must be finalized.
On Tuesday, Aug. 11, Democrats and Republicans will head to the polls for primaries, where registered members of each party will choose who will be on the November ballot.
For example, statewide, Gov. Ned Lamont is being challenged by challenger Josh Elliot for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination, so every town's Democrats will be making that decision.
Other hopefuls will also be on the ballot for both parties, depending on the town.
In Wethersfield, candidates will be on the primary ballots on Tuesday, Aug. 11, when polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Under Connecticut primary rules, endorsed candidates are identified on the ballot with an asterisk.
Wethersfield voters will have seven days of early voting ahead of Connecticut's Aug. 11 primary elections.
Early voting will take place Aug. 3 through Aug. 9 in the Council Chambers at Wethersfield Town Hall, 505 Silas Deane Highway.
