The first arriving chief officer reported heavy fire showing from the attic of the residence, according to the department.

All occupants had evacuated the home before firefighters arrived.

Firefighters entered the building and began an interior attack in the attic, successfully knocking down the main body of the fire.

Crews then conducted ventilation and overhaul operations, checking for remaining fire and removing damaged materials.

The Rocky Hill Fire Department assisted at the scene by providing a rapid intervention team, which is responsible for helping firefighters in distress during emergency operations.

Once firefighting operations were completed, the scene was turned over to the Wethersfield Fire Marshal's Office for an investigation into the fire's origin and cause.

The department did not report any injuries or provide an estimate of the damage.
