Area Golfers Fare Well in High School Championships
Wethersfield placed 14th in the girls' tournament in Trumbull.

Portland and Greenwich captured state golf championships Tuesday, but high school players from Patch towns in northern and central Connecticut also had fine showings.
Portland won the Division IV championship at Fairview Farms in Harwinton, lead by medalist Nicholas Piersall, who shot a blistering 3-under par 69.
At Tashua Knolls in Trumbull, Catherine McEvoy of Greenwich fired a 1-over par 73 to lead the Cardinals to the girls team title.
