Body Found In CT River Monday: Wethersfield Police

Preliminary investigation indicated that the body was a female. At this time, the identity has not been determined, police said. .

WETHERSFIELD, CT — A body was found in the Connecticut River Monday morning, police said.

At 9:30 a.m. police received a call from a person who said he had found a body in the river, police said. Wethersfield police and fire crews responded along with the Glastonbury Volunteer Fire Department to recover the body, police said.

"Preliminary investigation indicates that the body was female," police said in a news release. "At this time, the identity and manner of death is undetermined. The victim was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Farmington, CT."
