DEEP to CT River Anglers: Don't Expect Much
The Connecticut River is still running wild, state officials said.

WETHERSFIELD, CT — State environmental officials have sent a warning to fishermen along the Connecticut River — with the water running wild, don't expect much.
"The river is currently cold, turbid and high, continuing to higher than typical mid-April level and difficult to boat or fish," officials from the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said in an alert inserted into the weekly fishing report.
The Connecticut River Ferry has been shut down indefinitely in Glastonbury abnd Rocky Hill because the water levels are well more than 5 feet above normal, state officials said.

DEEP officials said the water is still cold, but a few American shad are showing up well downstream.
