Liquor Store Shooting Probed In Wethersfield

Police said there is no danger to the public following Friday afternoon's incident.

WETHERSFIELD, CT — A man was taken to the hospital Friday afternoon in Wethersfield after being shot in a local liquor store, Wethersfield police said in a statement.

The Wethersfield Police Department said officers were dispatched at about 2:21 p.m. to 5-15 Wine & Spirits, 1698 Berlin Turnpike, for the report of a gunshot victim.

Police said a male was located with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was transported to an area hospital for further treatment.

"At this time, there is no threat to the public," police said.
