A Look at Sex Offender Addresses in Wethersfield

Editor's Note: One or more names in this report have been redacted in light of additional documentation provided regarding this case.

WETHERSFIELD, CT — There are 21 registered sex offenders living in Wethersfield as of Oct. 2017, according to the Connecticut Sex Offender Registry.

More than half of rape/sexual assault incidents happen within a mile of the victim’s home, according to the United States Department of Justice. About 75 percent of victims know their attacker, and 45 percent of victims are under 12 years old.

The Connecticut Department of Emergency Services & Public Protection maintains the registry and updates information regularly, but information can change quickly. Information is often provided by offenders themselves as required by law.

Connecticut State Police posted the following warning in regards to the registry:

“ANY PERSON WHO USES INFORMATION IN THIS REGISTRY TO INJURE, HARASS OR COMMIT A CRIMINAL ACT AGAINST ANY PERSON INCLUDED IN THE REGISTRY OR ANY OTHER PERSON IS SUBJECT TO CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.”
