
WATERBURY — Police say a New York man was injured after he was attacked by a man wielding a machete in Waterbury,the Hartford Courant reported.
According to police, Christopher McGorman, 32, of Yonkers, NY, was walking in Waterbury around 6:15 p.m. Saturday when a man drove up in a black car, exited the vehicle and started swinging a stick and machete at him, according to the Courant story.
The man then threw the machete and fled in his vehicle after McGorman tried to defend himself.

McGorman suffered back and shoulder injuries and two "partial amputations" to fingers on his right hand, according to the story.
The attack remains under investigation.
