Sanctioned Police-Related Fundraising Campaign Under Way in Wethersfield

WETHERSFIELD, CT — Police on Friday were telling residents to expect legitimate fundraising literature over the next few days for a legitimate police purpose.

The Wethersfield Police Department's Police Benevolent Association is conducting a fundraiser, authorities said.

Every home and business in town will be receiving a mailer as part of the drive, police said.

"This is a legitimate fundraiser sanctioned by the department and not a scam," police said.
