Stolen Vehicle Suspect Charged In Wethersfield: PD
Wethersfield police utilized a special 'dart' device to attach to a fleeing vehicle, providing a means to track the stolen vehicle.
WETHERSFIELD, CT — Local police utilized a special tracking device to catch and charge a 35-year-old man in connection with a stolen vehicle in town Tuesday afternoon.
The Wethersfield Police Department said Michael Rascati, 35, no hometown given, was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle; possession of narcotics; engaging police in pursuit; and operating with a suspended license.
Police said Rascati was held on $50,000 bond and was to appear in New Britain Superior Court Wednesday.

According to the WPD, officers were called to McMullen Avenue at about 2:31 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a motorist with their head "hanging outside of the driver's door for an unknown reason."
When police arrived, they determined the vehicle was stolen and the vehicle, then, sped off.

Police, however, were able to deploy the "Starchase System," in which a special "dart" is deployed to a fleeing vehicle, allowing for real-time global positioning system information to be sent to police.
The WPD said the operator of the vehicle ditched the vehicle shortly thereafter and was apprehended on McMullen Avenue.
