Truck Crashes Down Embankment in Wethersfield

WETHERSFIELD, CT — A tractor-trailer slid through a turn on Interstate-91 northbound on Tuesday morning, forcing state police and state Department of Transportation officials to close the right two lanes of the highway.

The truck could be seen down an embankment on the nearby DOT Traffic Cam.

The stretch of highway between Exits 24 and 27, a distance of 2.8 miles, was heavily congested after the 9:20 a.m. incident, DOT officials said.

DOT officials said they hoped to have the road fully open by the evening commute.
