Watch Out For Crooked Home Contractors: Wethersfield PD

The Wethersfield Police Department has reported two cases of home improvement contractor fraud in recent days.

WETHERSFIELD, CT — Local police put out a consumer alert over the weekend regarding fraudulent home improvement contractors.

The Wethersfield Police Department said Saturday that, since Aug. 26, there have been two reported cases of fraud involving home improvement.

As a result, the WPD is urging folks to be cautious when they hire a contractor and to do their research.

"The Wethersfield Police Department is asking the public to confirm the credentials of any home improvement contractor before submitting forms of payment," wrote the WPD.

Anyone concerned about a contractor is asked to call the Wethersfield Police Department at 860-721-2901.
