
WETHERSFIELD, CT — Here are the latest campus notes involving students from Wethersfield:
- Anneli Johnson of Wethersfield has been named to the University of New Hampshire's Dean's List for the Spring Semester of the 2015-2016 academic year.
- The Union College Dean's List honorees include Brianna Godlewski of Wethersfield, a member of the Class of 2017 majoring in Biology and Richard Verre of Wethersfield, a member of the Class of 2018 majoring in Economics.
- A group of Eastern Connecticut State University students recently traveled to Ghana, West Africa, with Professor Shelly Gimenez. The trip, which focused on health care, public health and the education sectors of developing counties, offered a unique opportunity for the students who accompanied her. Rachel DiNatalie '18 of Wethersfield was among these students. DiNatalie's major is Health Sciences.
- Carling B. Walsh of Wethersfield has been selected for inclusion on the Dean's List for academic achievement during the Spring 2016 semester at St. Lawrence University.
- Rochester Institute of Technology celebrated its 131st Academic Convocation in May. Diplomas were distributed to graduates following the event at separate ceremonies held by each of RIT's nine colleges and two academic centers. Matthew Surawski of Wethersfield received a BS/MS in computer science from RIT's B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences.
- Griffin Latulippe of Wethersfield made the Dean's List at the Rochester Institute of Technology for the spring 2016 semester. Latulippe is studying in the physician assistant program.
- Alyssa Harris, of Wethersfield, earned Dean's List honors at Saint Joseph's University for the Spring 2016 semester. Harris studies Elementary Educ Pre K -4th Gr in the University's College of Arts & Sciences.
- Andrew Lucibella, a member of the class of 2018 from Wethersfield, has been named to the spring 2016 Dean's List at Loyola University Maryland.
- In May, a number of Eastern Connecticut State University students accompanied three faculty members from the Department of Environmental Earth Sciencesto Iceland to study geology. It was the department's first trip to Iceland and marked a new chapter in its efforts to expand and diversify experiential learning opportunities for EES majors. Samantha Walter '17 of Wethersfield was among these students. Walter's major is Environmental Earth Science.
- Alexa Giolito '16 of Wethersfield was among Eastern Connecticut State University students who participated in the global field course in Dublin. Giolito's major is Psychology.
- Wethersfield, resident Hannah Sisson, a student at Fairleigh Dickinson University's Florham in Madison, NJ, has been inducted into FDU's Phi Zeta Kappa honor society for the Spring 2016 semester.
Eligibility for membership in the University's junior honor society is established by completing at least the first 60 credits toward an undergraduate degree. Of these, 44 must have been earned at Fairleigh Dickinson and a CGPR of 3.20 must have been maintained for all of them. All the preceding requirements must have been fulfilled prior to the accumulation of 80 credits toward the undergraduate degree. - Emmanuel College celebrated its 94th Commencement Exercises on its campus in Boston in the spring. The graduates included Catherine Davis of Wethersfield, who received a Bachelor of Arts in a double major of Liberal Studies and Elementary Education; Alexandra Schroll of Wethersfield, who received a Bachelor of Arts in a double major of Liberal Studies and Elementary Education; Alison Gilbert of Wethersfield; who received a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a concentration in health sciences; and Patrick Vittner of Wethersfield, who received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a concentration in counseling and health.
