Wethersfield Cops Intercept Suspected Car Burglars

An alert citizen saw the suspects and notified police.

WETHERSFIELD, CT — Police said they have arrested a pair in a stolen car they suspect were in Wethersfield to burglarize other cars.

At about 4 a.m. Friday, a resident on Coppermill Road saw two vehicles traveling slowly and noticed others exiting towards parked vehicles, police said.

The resident suspected the individuals were breaking into vehicles and called 911, police said.

Officers quickly responded to the area, located the vehicle on Maple Street by Middletown Avenue and stopped it, police said. Two juveniles from Hartford were taken into custody, police said.

The were driving a vehicle reported stolen about three weeks ago in Guilford, police said.
