Wethersfield Cops Nab Somers Man Wanted in Assault Case
The case dates back to the summer, state police said.

SOMERS, CT — A Somers man accused of punching a woman and hitting her with a door in a domestic squabble was picked up by Wethersfield police this week and handed over to state police, who charged him with third-degree assault, an arrest warrant indicates.
Paul Rice, 49, was arrested on Dec, 5, state police said. He was also charged with interfering with an emergency call and disorderly conduct, according to an arrest warrant.
The incident was in July and a woman told state police that Rice punched her in the face, threw her into a bedroom and then swung the door open, hitting her in the forehead, according to an arrest warrant. He then ran away from the home, according to an arrest warrant.

Rice is due for his second court appearance at Jan. 11, according to court records.
