Wethersfield Cops Thanking Public for Post-Dallas Support
The department posted an emotional Facebook message.

WETHERSFIELD, CT - Local police are thanking community members for what they said has been an outpouring of support in the wake of the Dallas police shootings.
In Facebook posting, the Wethersfield Police Department said, "The local community has spoken to us in town ... the people whom we work for, the people who matter the most. They have come forward with support like we last saw in 2001. That's all we need to hear - the community is behind us. We cannot tell you, in such a uncertain and frustrating climate, how much that means to us. Thank you to everyone who has brought their sentiments of support ... We will protect and serve our community...fair, unbiased, unwavering ..."
As of 11 a.m. Tuesday, the Facebook post had 823 likes.
