Wethersfield First-Responders Help Play Stork for Baby Born in a Bathtub

Everyone is doing well, police said.

WETHERSFIELD, CT — Police on Wednesday reflected on a role first-responders had recently when a resident went into labor and had her baby in a bathtub.

The incident took place at 3:05 a.m. on Sept. 19 near Brown Street and Tanglewood Road, police said.

Dispatchers were told by a caller that a woman had gone into labor and that a baby had been born in a bathtub, police said.

First-responders found the umbilical cord still attached and the baby crying, but mom was fine, police said.

They then assisted the baby and the family until all were comfortable, police said.
