Wethersfield man Accused of Hitting Teen With Car After Tire Slashing Incident

WETHERSFIELD, CT - A Wethersfield man accused of hitting a teen with his car over an alleged tire slashing incident remained in custody Friday morning on a high bond for a serious assault charge, court records indicate.
Alexander Rakus, 23, of Wethersfield, has been charged with first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, evading responsibility and breach of peace. His bond is $50,000, according to court records.
Rakus is accused of following the teen and then hitting him after an alleged tire-slashing incident, breaking the boy's hip, the Hartford Courant reported.

The victim, is from Wethersfield, and was taken to Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford, according to the Courant story.
Rakus was to appear in court Friday, court records indicate.
