Berniece (Czapla) Krysiak, 98, of Wethersfield, formerly of New Britain, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late John Krysiak.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Albro) Czapla, she was a longtime New Britain resident and a member of Sacred Heart Church. Berniece was a veracious reader who loved gardening and cherished her friends. She was employed by the Veteran's Administration for many years until her retirement.
She leaves her sister, Eleanor "Ellie" Czapla, her sister-in-law, Hisayo Czapla both of Wethersfield, her nephew Philip Czapla of MA and other extended family members. She was predeceased by her brother, Fred Czapla and her sister Irene Czapla.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 25th, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, New Britain. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington is serving her family.
