Wethersfield Obituary: Betty-Ann McCahill, 69

Condolences to her family and friends.

Betty-Ann McCahill, 69, surrounded by her three children, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 2, 2016.

She was born in New Britain in 1947 to the late Donald Joseph and Margaret Virginia (Goodwin) McCahill. A 1965 graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School in New Britain, Betty-Ann was overjoyed to recently attend her 50th high school reunion and reconnect with childhood friends. Her high school yearbook picture read, "Beautiful smile. Picture of poise. Enjoys charcoal sketching. Dreams of career as fashion coordinator and designer."

Betty-Ann's career took a different path and while raising her three children in Wethersfield she enjoyed volunteering in her community and began life-long friendships through her involvement in the Wethersfield Junior Women's Club.

A devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend, Betty-Ann's true love was to spend time with family and friends. She looked forward to her monthly lunches and dinners with friends, and her beautiful smile would light up a room as she proudly talked about her children and grandchildren. She loved Thanksgiving and Christmas-carrying on old family traditions and starting new ones-and was happiest when she was able to spend them with her family.

Betty-Ann learned to ballroom dance later in life and will always be remembered for her poise on the dance floor at her son and daughter's weddings.
