Wethersfield Obituary: Claudia Miller, 97

Condolences to her family and friends.

Claudia M. Miller, 97, of Bolton, formerly of Coventry, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 8, 2016, Mother’s Day.

She was born in Hartford on May 17, 1918, daughter of Theresa (Kohler) and Paul Willnauer. She was raised in Hartford and Wethersfield and was employed by the former Underwood Typewriter Company and also the Coventry Post Office as a letter carrier.

Claudia enjoyed travel with her husband Bill, making many trips around the US and to visit Bill’s parents in Reno, NV. She and Bill also traveled overseas to visit their sons who served abroad and their families. Claudia was a 48 year member of Coventry Grange #75, East Central Pomona Grange #3, and the Connecticut State Grange. She was a dedicated member of the St. Maurice Christmas Bazaar Crafters and a longtime member and faithful communicant at St. Maurice Church in Bolton.

She is predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Bill (William), brothers Charles and Peter, and sister Gloria. She is survived by her children, David Miller (Patricia) of Alstead, NH, Marilee Manning (Thomas) of Bolton, Heidi Field (Donald) of Mansfield Center, Glenn Miller (Carol-Lynn) of Coventry, Gordon Miller (Patricia) of Surrey, ND and Noel Miller (Marcia) of Coventry; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; beloved brother John Willnauer of Coventry, and many nieces, nephews and long time neighbor and special family friend, Isabel (Brodersen) Chirico.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Maurice Church, 32 Hebron Road, Bolton. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
