Wethersfield Obituary: Eleanor Gianni, 92

Condolences to her family and friends.

Eleanor Sadosky Gianni, 92, of Williamsburg, VA, former longtime resident of Wethersfield, beloved wife for almost 60 years of the late Sebastian J. Gianni, died peacefully on Wednesday, Oct 11, 2017 surrounded by her family.

Born in Hartford, Ellie was the daughter of the late Alexander and Catherine Sadosky. She graduated from Hartford Public High School in 1943 and later worked as an administrative assistant at the CPA firm of Massa and Hinsley in Hartford.

A devoted and loving mother, Ellie raised her family in Connecticut, Indiana and Virginia. In her younger years, she was active as a Girl Scouts Leader and Room Mother, and served as a President of the Women’s Rosarian League and member of the church choir.

Ellie loved playing golf and was in several women’s leagues. She also enjoyed bowling and was an accomplished bridge player into her 90s. She was an excellent cook and loved preparing food for her family and entertaining friends. One of her favorite destinations was the beach, where she spent summer vacations with her children and grandchildren.

Ellie was a woman of deep faith and prayed the rosary daily. She was especially proud of her Polish heritage, and a longtime member of the Polish National Home in Hartford. Ellie will be remembered for her sparkling blue eyes and beautiful smile that lit up any room.

Ellie leaves her two daughters and sons-in law, Maryanna and Walter Rudecki of League City, Texas, and Louise and Jim Crowley of Williamsburg, Virginia; her five grandchildren: Louisa Tacker and husband Anthony, Lilybeth Brown and husband Barrett, Jennie Crowley and husband Mark Rossi, Emily Crowley and her fiancé Mark Cirilli, and Benjamin Crowley; and, her great grandchildren: Travis Segert, Caterina, Vincenza and Charles Tacker, Colt Brown and Evelyn Crowley Rossi. She also leaves a brother, Raymond Sadoski of Clinton and was predeceased by her brothers Edward, Charles, Stanley and Leo Sadosky and her sisters Alice Kozuch and Frances Benson.

A Mass of Christian burial will take place Monday, October 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Burial will immediately follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church at 10 a.m. before mass.
