Wethersfield Obituary: Giuseppa Pizzoferrato, 87

Condolences to her family and friends.

Giuseppa "Giuseppina" (D'Andrea) Pizzoferrato, 87, of Wethersfield, beloved wife of the late Alberico Pizzoferrato, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 27, 2018 with her loving son, Emilio by her side.

Giuseppina was born on October 12, 1930 in Pratola Peligna, province of Aquila, Italy and was the daughter of the late Francesco and Crocifissa (Libatore) D'Andrea. Giuseppina and Alberico married in 1959 and started their family. Giuseppina was extremely talented with needlepoint and crocheting. She and her sister Emilia created beautiful custom pieces that were cherished by their families. They also sold them as part their family business in Italy.

In 1970, Giuseppina and her family moved from Italy to the South End of Hartford to provide a better future for their children. Giuseppina worked in the manufacturing industry for many years and was a member of the Pratolana M.B. Society. She was also very devoted supporter of the patron saint of her hometown, La Madonna Della Libera. A wonderful cook, Giuseppina truly enjoyed entertaining her family and friends and there was always room for one more at her dinner table.

A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Giuseppina will be truly missed by her son, Emilio Pizzoferrato and his wife Jennifer of Wethersfield and her cherished grandson Emilio Alberico Pizzoferrato. Additionally, Antonio Pizzoferrato and Francesco Pizzoferrato and many extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, husband and eight siblings, Giuseppina was predeceased by her beautiful daughter, Flora Pizzoferrato, Esq.

Funeral services for Giuseppina will begin on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Church, 10 Campfield Avenue, Hartford. Burial will immediately follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 3-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
