
Harry T. Byrne, 87, of Wethersfield, beloved husband of the late Nancy (Ashley) Byrne, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2017.
Harry was born in Janesville, WI on March 7, 1930 and was the son of the late Wilbert T. Byrne and Dorothy J. (Topliss) Byrne. Harry grew up in Janesville and was a 1952 graduate of Beloit College, he then served in the field artillery of the 25th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army in the Korean War. After being honorably discharged, Harry returned and attended the University of Wisconsin Graduate Business School.
In 1955 Harry moved to Hartford to join the former Aetna Casualty. During his career he became a member of the Casualty Actuarial Society and later served on the Examination Committee and Board of Directors. Harry was an Actuary with Aetna Casualty for thirty-seven years.

He and his late wife Nancy moved to Wethersfield in 1961. He was a member of the First Church of Christ in Wethersfield and volunteered his time for The Kidney Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, and the United Way. Some of Harry’s favorite activities included tennis, skiing, travel and he enjoyed time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Harry is survived by his son Thomas Byrne and his wife Nancy of West Hartford and their children Thomas Byrne, Jr., his wife Carolyn, Christopher Byrne, Sarah Byrne, Allison Byrne and Conor Byrne; his daughter Carolyn Yablon of West Chester, PA and her son Jeremy Yablon; his daughter Mary Byrne of Wethersfield; his son Alan Byrne and his wife Sandra of Wethersfield and their children Ryan Byrne, and Elie Byrne; his daughter Laura Graham and her husband John Graham of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and their children Benjamin Graham and Katherine Graham. Harry is also survived by his brother, William Byrne and his wife Nancy of WI and his sister Joan Cavitch of MA. In addition to his loving wife Nancy of fifty-two years, Harry was predeceased by his sister, Kathleen Mowry of WI and his sister, Anne Kisting of WI.

A memorial service in honor of Harry will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at the First Church of Christ, 250 Main Street, Wethersfield. There will be no calling hours and the burial will be private.
The D’Esopo Funeral Chapel of Wethersfield is assisting the family with the arrangements.
