Wethersfield Obituary: Helen DeLucco, 99

Condolences to her family and friends.

Helen E. DeLucco, 99, of West Hartford and formerly of Wethersfield, beloved wife of the late John DeLucco, died May 18, 2017 at St. Mary's Home after a lengthy illness.

Born in Hartford to Raffaele and Mary (D’Agostino) Mazzucchi, she was a graduate of Hartford Public High School, Class of 1936. Helen worked at Terry Steam Turbine during WW II and later at G. Fox & Co. Generally known as the best cook and baker, she was also an avid shopper and never missed her weekly hair appointment.

Helen leaves behind her grandchildren, Kimberly Farrelly and her husband Sean of Wethersfield, David Petrelli and his wife Victoria of Nashville, Tennessee and her great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Cooper and Kaitlyn Farrelly and Alexa Petrelli. In addition to her husband, Helen was sadly predeceased by her daughter, Diane Petrelli.

A special thank you to Atria Hamilton Heights and the staff on Baggott Street at St. Mary's Home for their care to Helen over the past several years and most recently the past few weeks.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday (May 22) at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family and there are no calling hours.
