Wethersfield Obituary: John O'Connell, 68

John Kevin O'Connell, 68, of Rocky Hill, passed away on Sunday (June 25, 2017).

He was born in Hartford, son of the late John T. O'Connell Jr. and Edith M. (Cole) O'Connell. He was a graduate of Wethersfield High School Class of 1967 and Porter School of Design. He went on to work as an architectural and graphic designer.

He proudly served his country in the US Air Force, stationed at SAC Headquarters, Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, NE. during the Vietnam War. John was a fabulous artist.

He leaves behind a sister, Kathryn Shank and her husband Charles V. Shank Jr. of Wethersfield; a niece Kristin Saplio and her husband Kevin of Southbury and their children Tyler and Ryan Saplio; cousins, Matthew O'Connell and his children Madeline and Taylor, Vincent O'Connell and his wife Dawn and Their son Jacob. He also leaves many dear friends who he was always willing to help and were always there to help him.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 11 AM in the Rose Hill Funeral Home. 580 Elm St. Rocky Hill. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 6 to 8 PM.
