Lucy A. Spatafora, 90, of Wethersfield, passed away peacefully at home on May 28, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Hartford on August 23, 1925, daughter of the late Salvatore and Rose (Bondi) Spatafora, she had been a long time resident of Wethersfield. Lucy was a graduate of Bulkeley High School and Hillyer College. She was employed as Secretary to the Comptroller at Connecticut Light and Power and Secretary/Treasurer of Spatafora Travel in Hartford.
Lucy was an independent woman ahead of her time. She lived life on her own terms up until the very end. From riding camels in Egypt, to exploring the mines in Tanzania, Lucy's passion for travel and zest for life took her twice around the world. When she wasn't traveling, she would enjoy shopping trips to New York and was a patron of the Connecticut Opera.
