Wethersfield Obituary: Maria Rovella, 81

Maria (D’Angelo) Rovella, 81, of Wethersfield, beloved wife for 52 years of Gaetano Rovella, passed away peacefully on Monday (October 17, 2016) at Hartford Hospital.

Born in Palermo, Sicily on May 14, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Guiseppe and Antonina D’Angelo. Maria’s life revolved around taking care of her husband and raising their children. She loved cooking and cleaning and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed shopping and having coffee with her best friend, Lina.

Maria will be dearly missed by her loving husband Gaetano; two devoted children, Lidia Delmonaco and husband Bruno of Newington and Sebastiano Rovella and wife Barbara of Farmington and four adored grandchildren, Alexandra Lough and husband Andrew, Diamond Delmonaco, and Brianna and Karissa Rovella. She was predeceased by six brothers and sisters.

The funeral will be Thursday (October 20) at 10:30 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
