Wethersfield Obituary: Nancy Dumond, 59

Nancy (Browne) Dumond, 59, of South Windsor and formerly of East Hartford and Wethersfield, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, August 9, 2016.

Born in Hartford on March 17, 1957, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Helen (Brajczewski) Browne, she was raised in Wethersfield and resided in East Hartford for many years prior to moving to South Windsor eleven years ago. Nancy was a graduate of Wethersfield High School, Class of 1975 and Eastern Connecticut State University. Nancy was an avid gardener and a pet lover, who adored her two dogs, Bernard and Lola.

A dedicated mother, Nancy was very supportive of her two sons and attended and cheered them on at all of their sporting events and extracurricular activities. Most of all, Nancy will be remembered as a warm gentle woman with a large heart who would always welcome her sons’ friends and others into her home and offer them home cooked food.

Nancy is survived by her two devoted sons, Bryce J. Dumond and Jake K. Dumond both of East Hartford; her significant other, Paul R. Gousse, of South Windsor with whom she made her home, and his children; two sisters, Donna Stott and her husband, Robert of Plantation, FL, Sandra Browne of Las Vegas, NV; a sister-in-law, Darlene Newberg and her husband, John of Vernon; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Along with her parents, Nancy was predeceased by a sister, Deborah Ruppar of Wethersfield; her in-laws, Joseph and Hilda Dumond of East Hartford; and her close friend, Mary Martocci of East Hartford.

Private funeral service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Nancy’s family will receive relatives and friends at the D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford on Sunday (August 14, 2016) from 12 noon to 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Nancy’s name may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society of CT, 659 Tower Avenue, First Floor, Hartford, CT 06112.
