
Paolo "Paul" Aliano, 85, of South Windsor and formerly of Wethersfield, beloved husband of Lucia (Alfano) Aliano, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2017, surrounded by his family.
Born in Canicattini Bagni, Province of Siracusa, Italy on August 24, 1932, he was a son of the late Nicola and Concetta (Amenta) Aliano. Paolo owned the White Star Barber Shop in East Hartford for 38 years. He was a member of The Canicattinese Society in Hartford, a talented clarinet player, and an avid lover of opera music and Italian soccer.
Paolo will be sadly missed by his wife of 59 years, his daughters Concetta (Tina) Piersa of Manchester, Maria Wanat and husband Albert of South Windsor, sons Nicola (Nick) Aliano and wife Yafreisy of Rocky Hill, and Salvatore Aliano and wife Louise of Wethersfield; grandchildren Valerie Castillo and husband Javier, Melissa Piersa, Matthew Wanat and wife Dianne, Amanda and Kristina Wanat, Sabrina Aliano and Stella Aliano; step-grandchildren Rosveiry and Nashla Santana; great-grandchildren Abriana, Angelina and Javier Castillo, and Daniel and Olivia Wanat; a brother Corrado Aliano and wife Maria of Italy, brothers and sisters-in-law, and several nieces and nephews. Aside from his parents, he is predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law Emanuela and Gino Rizzo.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00AM on Thursday (November 30) from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd, Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00PM at St. Augustine Church, 10 Campfield Ave, Hartford. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday (November 29) from 4:00 - 7:00PM at the funeral chapel.
