Wethersfield Obituary: Rose Vitale, 85

Rose “Ro” M. (Tartaglia) Vitale, 85, of Wethersfield, wife of late U.S. Navy veteran William N. Vitale, passed away Friday, September 16, 2016 at Hartford Hospital surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of Concetto and Sebastiana (Salastra) Tartaglia and lived in Wethersfield for the past 51 years.

Rose is survived by a son and his wife, William and Patricia Vitale of West Palm Beach, FL; two daughters, Diane Vitale of Rocky Hill, and Maria and her husband, Eric Johnson of Wethersfield; a sister and her husband, Gloria and Bill Gilligan of Wethersfield; and four grandchildren, Lauren, Kristen, Rebecca and Samantha.

As the family reflects on her life, the happiest of memories were made in the kitchen and they will be passed down and cherished forever. She will be missed dearly by loved ones.

The funeral for Rose will be Saturday, September 24, 2016, 9 a.m. at the Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm Street, Rocky Hill followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m. at St. James Roman Catholic Church, 767 Elm Street, Rocky Hill. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Kidney Foundation or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
