
Ruth (Miller) Birmingham, 94, passed on Saturday, January 27, 2018, with her family by her side at her home in Vernon. She was the beloved wife of the late W. Dudley Birmingham, and daughter of the late Frederick and Elsie (Ertel) Miller.
Ruth was a resident of Wethersfield for most of her life. She was predeceased by her brother, Jackie. Ruth was a lifelong member of the First Church of Christ in Wethersfield and active with the churchwomen for many years. Ruth was an avid reader and fan of the UConn Women Huskies. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and doting over her cat, Dusty. Ruth was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She leaves two sons, Richard Birmingham and his wife Cynthia of Broad Brook, Alan Birmingham of Rocky Hill, and daughter Joyce Kurker and her husband Raymond of South Windsor. Ruth was blessed with seven grandchildren, Kathryn and husband James Knurek, Sara Kurker, Olivia Kurker and boyfriend Christopher Siewertsen, Candice and Theresa Birmingham, Erica and husband Joshua Carew, Alan and wife Lauren Birmingham; along with three great grandchildren, Mark, Maddox and the newest family addition Emmy Ruth.

The family would like to extend thanks to our caregivers from Right at Home for their kindness and compassion and a special thanks to the Hospice Visiting Nurse & Health Services, our angels when we desperately needed them.
