Wethersfield Open Houses Sept. 26-27: 8 Homes, From An 1878 Victorian To Updated Ranches

WETHERSFIELD, CT — This weekend's Wethersfield open houses come with a busy local calendar. One Old Wethersfield listing counts Scarecrows on Main Street, Porch Fest and the Corn Festival among the neighborhood's walkable traditions. Another notes that the historic district has been a filming location for several Hallmark movies, and it offers a spare room that could become an art studio. Farther from Main Street, the lineup includes 1950s ranches, a townhouse-style condo and a fixer-upper with a finished lower level.

Eight Wethersfield homes are holding open houses Sept. 26-27, with prices from $275,000 to $499,900, according to Zillow.com.

Saturday, Sept. 26

91 Forest Drive, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (also Sunday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.), $470,000: Zillow's facts describe this 1956 house as a ranch on a level lot of just over a third of an acre, with central air, an attached one-car garage and a partially finished basement. The listing calls the layout practical for everyday living and entertaining. The three-bedroom, two-bath home has 1,584 square feet. The price came down $5,000 on Sept. 23.

473 Nott Street, noon to 2 p.m. (also Sunday, noon to 2 p.m.), $275,000: This 1956 ranch has a living room with a brick fireplace and built-ins, an eat-in kitchen with appliances included, hardwood floors in the bedrooms and a finished lower-level family room. Outside are a rear deck, a level yard and a storage shed. The three-bedroom, one-bath home has 1,512 square feet and is being sold as-is. Plan accordingly: The listing says multiple offers have been received and highest-and-best offers are due Sunday at 4 p.m.

39 Clovercrest Road, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. (also Sunday, noon to 2 p.m.), $439,900: This 1951 ranch in what the listing calls the Highcrest school district sits on about half an acre and offers one-floor living with hardwood floors throughout. The updated kitchen has maple cabinets, granite counters and stainless steel appliances, and it opens to a sitting room. The living room has a gas fireplace, and the primary suite has a walk-in shower and walk-in closet. The two-bedroom, two-bath home has 1,206 square feet, a two-car attached garage and a partially finished basement with new carpeting. The listing says the sale is subject to probate approval.

136 Charter Road, 1 to 3 p.m. (also Sunday, 1 to 3 p.m.), $349,900: The listing is upfront that this 1965 raised ranch is "a true fixer-upper," sold as-is. The main level has a living room with a fireplace, a kitchen that opens to a back deck and three bedrooms with hardwood floors. The finished lower level adds two more rooms with sliders to the backyard. The four-bedroom home with one full and two half baths has 1,257 square feet, according to Zillow, and a two-car under-house garage on a quarter-acre lot.

3 Barrington Drive #C, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., $295,000: This townhouse-style condo, built in 1983, has fresh paint and new flooring throughout. Upstairs, each of its two bedrooms has its own full bath, which the listing calls "a rare find in condo living." Downstairs are a living room with a fireplace, an eat-in kitchen and a family room with sliders to a back patio. The two-bedroom, 2.5-bath condo has 1,540 square feet, second-floor laundry, central air, a one-car garage and a fully floored attic with full headroom.

95 Oakdale Street, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., $349,900: This 1955 ranch comes on the market Sept. 26, so Sunday's open house falls on its first weekend. The listing points to hardwood floors in the living room and bedrooms, a gas fireplace insert with lighted built-ins, and a kitchen with granite counters. The lower level has a bar area and room for a big screen. The listing also calls the neighborhood "perfect for Trick or Treating." The three-bedroom, two-bath home has 987 square feet, a private yard and an attached one-car garage.

55 Hart Street, noon to 2 p.m., $499,900: Built in 1878, this Victorian Colonial in historic Old Wethersfield keeps its original woodwork, trim and period details. It has a gas fireplace in the living room, a recently renovated first-floor bath and a second bath with a clawfoot tub. The listing says it's a walk to the village center, Wethersfield Cove and events like Bikes on Main and Porch Fest.
