Wethersfield Police Announce Charges on Juveniles for Swim Club Fire, High School Vandalism
Formal charges in both cases were announced on Friday.

WETHERSFIELD, CT — Police on Friday announced formal arson charges on two juveniles implicated in a suspicious fire at a local club as well as vandalism-related charges for an incident at Wethersfield High School.
On Thursday, Wethersfield police arrested two juveniles for their role in the Jan. 29 fire at the Pine Acres Swim and Tennis Club. Police said the juveniles were each charged with third-degree arson, third-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief, conspiracy to commit third-degree arson, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary conspiracy to commit first-degree criminal mischief.
The same two juveniles were charged for incidents last month involving storage sheds on the Wethersfield High School campus, police said.

The incidents at the high school took place on Jan. 7 and 24, police said.
They were each charged with third-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief, second-degree criminal trespass and related conspiracy charges.

Exterior surveillance footage from the high school assisted in the identification of the suspects, police said. The surveillance system was recently updated as part of the multi-million dollar renovation project at Wethersfield High School.
The names of the juveniles are being withheld, police said.
