Wethersfield Police Continue To Investigate Fatal Car Crash

Police said they are investigating a fatal car accident involving a pedestrian last month.

WETHERSFIELD, CT — Police said they are investigating and making some changes after a Nov. 9 accident resulted in the death of a pedestrian. The wreck occurred at the intersection of Ridge Road and Nott Street.

The crash is being investigated by police and members of the regional Mid State Accident Reconstruction Squad.

"This process may be lengthy, as its thoroughness is important to all individuals affected by the tragic situation," police wrote on Facebook. "Upon conclusion of the investigation, the Wethersfield Police Department will release a statement based on the findings."

The department said it is taking "proactive steps to ensure the safety of the community." This includes patrols and enforcement of stop sign violations at the intersection of Ridge Road and Nott Street, as well as Church Street and Wolcott Hill Road.

Police said that beyond this they will be "conducting selective enforcement throughout the town in the coming weeks."
