Wethersfield Police Dog Helps Nab Large Bag of Cocaine

The stash was found by a DOT worker in Newington.

NEWINGTON, CT — A Department of Transportation employee came across more than he bargained for when he found a package while cleaning the grounds of the local state building Thursday.

And with the help of Wethersfield police dog Marley, it turned out to be more than a kilogram of cocaine.

The employee had been picking trash on the property at 160 Pascone Place when he located the square-shaped plastic package between the DOT property and Dick's Sporting Goods, police said.
