Wethersfield Police Re-Issue Warning to Lock Cars
Police are asking residents to be diligent.

WETHERSFIELD, CT — Wethersfield police have re-issued a warning to residents about incidents involving gangs of car thieves and burglars.
Several cars have been stolen in Wethersfield, and many more thefts from vehicles have been reported, police said.
A "common issue" in almost all of the cases involved cars are being left unlocked, often with the keys inside them or nearby, police said.

Police said the trend is large groups of teenagers going out "very late at night" to low-traffic, suburban neighborhoods and pulling on car door handles, police said.
If the car is open, the teenagers will steal wallets, laptops, phones, GPS units or any other small items of value from the car.
