Wethersfield Woman Charged With Stealing Food Stamp Benefits: State

State authorities said she received benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) she was not entitled to get.

WETHERSFIELD, CT — State authorities said Thursday a Wethersfield woman has been charged with stealing $2,843 from a program financed by the state Department of Social Services.

The state Division of Criminal Justice said Terri Gaston, 60, of Wethersfield, was charged by Inspectors from the Statewide Prosecution Bureau of the Office of the Chief State's Attorney on Tuesday with first-degree larceny.

According to the arrest warrant affidavit, Gaston received $2,843 in benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) she was not entitled to receive from February 2022 to December 2022.
