Wethersfield's Vintage Baseball Team Has Two Upcoming Home Games

WETHERSFIELD, CT - A local baseball club that plays under 19th-century rules has two upcoming homes games scheduled.

The Red Onion Base Ball Club plays the game by the rules of 1864 and spells the sport the way is was in the 1800s.

Here is the July schedule:

• July 9: Red Onion vs. Thames BBC, 11 a.m. at Cove Park.
• July 16: Wethersfield Red Onion vs. East Haven Jor-Els at Cove Park. The Jor-Els are a "modern baseball club" , but will leave the gloves behind for a day.

The Wethersfield Red Onion Vintage Base Ball Club is a group of men and women who gather at Cove Park to play 19th century baseball. The team may not use gloves, but it has discovered the Internet. Check out the Red Onion Facebook page.
