Wrong-Way Driver Crashes on Route 3 in Wethersfield: State Police

A driver was traveling the wrong way and caused a head-on crash, state police said.

WETHERSFIELD, CT — A Middletown woman has been charged with drunken driving for a Thursday afternoon head-on crash in Wethersfield, state police said.

State police released the details of the crash on Friday.

At 4:31 p.m. Julianne Tedeschi, 44, of Dove Lane, Middletown, entered the southbound section of Route 3 but was heading northbound toward Glastonbury, a report indicates.

She then struck another vehicle head-on and failed a series of sobriety tests, according to a report.

The driver of the other vehicle, 60-year-old Kevin Kalemba, of Rocky Hill, refused medical attention at the scene, according to a report.

Tedeschi was taken to Hartford Hospital with minor injuries, according to a report. She was charged with wrong-way driving in addition to driving under the influence, according to a report.
