15-Year-Old Met 30-Year-Old on Grindr App, Caught Smoking Weed: Police

A 30-year-old Wilton man was found smoking marijuana with a 15-year-old he met through the gay social network app "Grindr."

WILTON, Conn. -- A 30-year-old Wilton man is under investigation after Wilton police found him in a car smoking marijuana with a 15-year-old he met through the dating app Grindr, according to a police report.

Grindr is known as "the world's largest gay social network app," according to their website.

Police said an officer saw Garrett Stephen Albright’s Subaru Legacy parked at 21 River Road and initiated a motor vehicle stop for equipment violation on April 20, 2016.

Albright was found to be in possession of less than a half ounce of marijuana and had been smoking it with the juvenile, police said.

He was arrested and charged with risk of injury to a minor, possession of marijuana and having an illegible marker on his car, police said.

Albright posted a bond of $5,000, was released. He is due in court on Friday, May 29, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
