New State Senate Candidate Enters Race Covering Wilton (patch.com) — Voters in Wilton will see a new name on the ballot for the 26th State Senate District, as Westport official Alma Sarelli launches a campaign for the open seat that includes Wilton. Sarelli, a Republican and small business owner, highlights affordability, strong schools, public safety, and responsive local government as her priorities, with more campaign events and volunteer opportunities promised soon.    

2. Driver Flees Rollover Crash In Wilton, Later Charged: Police (patch.com) — Wilton police say a Norwalk man fled a late-night rollover crash on Danbury Road, prompting a search that included a K9 team before he returned to headquarters about six hours later. The driver, who reported no injuries and claimed another car forced him off the road, now faces charges including evading responsibility and is due in Stamford court.    

3. P&Z Favors Town Control of ASML Emergency Access Use of Arrowhead Rd. (goodmorningwilton.com) — Wilton’s Planning and Zoning Commission is leaning toward allowing ASML limited emergency and essential-operations use of a new access road from 77 Danbury Rd. to Arrowhead Rd., but key details are still being negotiated. Commissioners want town officials, not ASML, to control when an emergency is declared, and they’re working to balance plant access needs with Arrowhead neighbors’ safety, noise, and traffic concerns before a final vote.    

4. Business Woman, Legislator, Philanthropist and Alumna Toni Boucher Describes Her Journey from Poverty to the American Dream (uconn.edu) — Wilton’s First Selectwoman, Toni Boucher, shares how she rose from extreme childhood poverty in rural Italy to leadership in Connecticut government and philanthropy. She reflects on her immigrant journey, long legislative service, deep ties to UConn’s business school, and the entrepreneurial legacy she built with her late husband, aimed at inspiring future students and community leaders.    

5. Suzanne Ruth Phalen Totten (gulfcoastmedia.com) — Wilton readers are remembering Suzanne “Sue” Ruth Phalen Totten, who moved to Wilton after high school and met her future husband here before building a life that later took her to Texas and the Gulf Coast. The 79-year-old, known for her love of music, books, bridge and family, died peacefully at home on April 10, with a remembrance gathering planned later in Walnut Creek, California.
