Untimely Death Of 13-Year-Old Girl Under Investigation By Wilton Police

WILTON, CT — Wilton police are investigating the death of a 13-year-old girl, which authorities said they believe to be a suicide based on a preliminary investigation.

In a news release Wednesday, police said officers and detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the girl’s death alongside the Connecticut Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, which will determine the official cause and manner of death.

“Today, a family in our community is grieving an unimaginable loss,” police said in the release. “We extend our deepest condolences to her loved ones during this extremely difficult time.”

According to police, the department will continue working with school officials and community partners to provide support resources and counseling services for those affected.

Police said no additional details would be released out of respect for the family.
