WILTON, CT — Police are investigating multiple vehicle break-ins and stolen vehicles reported in Wilton this week.
According to the Wilton Police Department, an officer attempted to stop a vehicle on Danbury Road around 4:15 a.m. May 28, but the driver fled at a high rate of speed.
Officers later learned the vehicle had been reported stolen after responding to the registered owner's residence, police said.
Later that morning, dispatchers received multiple reports of vehicle break-ins and attempted break-ins in the areas of Olmstead Hill Road and Skunk Lane, according to police.
Police said a second vehicle reported stolen out of Hamden was found on Millstone Road later that evening and is believed to be connected to the investigation.
The investigation remains active.
Police reminded residents to lock their vehicles, remove valuables and report suspicious activity.
