WILTON, CT — A Range Rover stolen from Wilton last week has been recovered and a suspect has been arrested, according to police.
The Wilton Police Department said Wednesday that members of the Waterbury Police Department's Auto Theft Task Force recovered the vehicle Tuesday night.
Police said one of the individuals believed to be involved in the theft was located and arrested while occupying a separate vehicle.
According to authorities, the suspect was already wanted on an outstanding warrant from Bristol for illegal possession of a firearm.
Police said the warrant stemmed from an earlier incident in which the individual allegedly fled from a stolen vehicle, leaving behind a backpack containing an illegal firearm and identification.
During the operation, investigators also recovered a "ghost gun," an illegally manufactured or altered firearm that lacks serial numbers or other traceable markings, police said.
Wilton police said the investigation remains active and that no additional information regarding the events in Wilton can be released at this time.
